UPC symbols are ubiquitous and constant reminders that we are a civilization of consumers. Up until now, there was no distinguishing one from the other.

That’s all changed since a Japanese company named D-Barcode came up with some very creative and innovative ideas on how to make these uninteresting lines actually enjoyable to look upon.

Microsoft says no Blu-ray for Xbox 360

XBOXIs Microsoft hating on Blu-ray? I'd say so. Found this story on Reuters:

Microsoft is not in talks to include Sony's Blu-ray high-definition DVD technology in its Xbox 360 video game console, an executive said on Wednesday.

The comments by Aaron Greenberg, group product manager for Xbox 360, poured cold water on recent speculation that Microsoft could support Blu-ray after Toshiba, backer of the rival HD DVD format, gave up when key movie studios and retailers abandoned the technology.

"Xbox is not currently in talks with Sony or the Blu-ray Association to integrate Blu-ray into the Xbox experience," Greenberg told Reuters in an interview.

Microsoft, which has stopped making an HD-DVD add-on for the Xbox 360, would continue to invest in its Xbox Live online service that already lets users rent hundreds of movies, including ones in high-definition.

"We're the only console offering digital distribution of entertainment content," Greenberg said....


Still using Windows XP...just like everyone else.

Operating System Market Share for July, 2007

Despite the fan fare for Windows Vista earlier this year, many people are holding on to their Windows XP systems. According to a Net Applications report, Windows XP still holds an 81% market share in the computer market. Considering Windows Vista's system requirements, many users are choosing only to upgrade when they purchase a new computer.

Before I begin my posts, I'd like to wish my long-time friend, [info]chibi_hotaru, a very happy birthday today!

Now if you're an avid gamer or master tinkerer, you've probably opened up your computer case before. Companies such as Alienware have been producing their high-end machines with awesome cases for years. What happens when you give an 80's cartoon geek the time and money to produce their own case mods? Transformers! I found this gem on Engadget:
