Robots Exhibit Stress

From Make Magazine:

These two videos of robotic projects by artist Michael Kontopoulos show examples of his work that feature machines with obvious flaws. "Machine that Tries to Draw Circles" is a machine that exhibits a chaotic attempt at drawing a circle by failing miserably. The other video of "Machines that Almost Fall Over" shows hammers programmed to pound on the object supporting them in order to tip it over. Interesting take on a-life in kinetic objects with low self-esteem.

Home Is Where the Art Is

When people make their home away from home, its usually a toned down version of a house. While it has furniture, it make not be as lavish as the pieces in your normal home. I came across this NY Times piece on Susan Mead, a lawyer in Dallas, that has five vacation homes around the world. The images from the story show off her art work and design sense.

As someone that has always wanted to restore an old home, I'm amazed by Ms. Mead's ability to find these old properties and fix them up. I would classify her as a house flipper, but I'm unsure as to how frequently she sells her properties.
